The Home Repair Opportunity (HeRO) program provides funding to meet the need for home repair, modification and maintenance for low to moderate income homeowners.  Eligible homeowners may receive assistance up to $22,500 for necessary repairs, modifications, and maintenance on eligible properties.

Funding provided by U.S. Housing and Urban Development through the Missouri Housing Development Commission.

Eligible Households

• Owner occupied homes with ownership in fee simple title, ownership via inheritance, life estate or living trust beneficiary.
• Lived in home for at least 3 years.
• Meet specific income guidelines for low to moderate income qualifying homeowner.

Eligible Properties

• Owner occupied homes;
• Property must be at least 3 years old;
• Must have been occupied by the current homeowner for at least 3 years;
• Must have a value equal to or less than the Maximum Property Value for Cole County. 

Applications will be accepted on first come first served basis. Funds are limited and will accept applications for the 2017 grant year until funds are no longer available. *Program is on hold at this time.
