Trails

Jefferson City Parks and Recreation manages 17 miles of Greenway paved trail, three miles of paved park/fitness trails and 18 miles of natural surface mountain bike trails.

When it comes to trails in Jefferson City, there is something for everyone.  Some of our fitness trails, such as Ellis-Porter Riverside park trail, have a hilly topography which is great for a more challenging workout.  For a more level experience, the Edgewood and Washington Park sections of the Greenway system run along Wears Creek and is comparatively flat.

Jefferson City is a perfect mix of urban and rural, and our trails reflect that diversity.  Much of the Greenway system runs through the city and is easily accessible at multiple points, visible from major thoroughfares.  Our fitness loop trails give a more park-like experience, with the trails meandering past green space, playgrounds and picnic areas.  For those in search of a rustic experience, miles and miles of natural surface paths can be explored.

Motorized vehicles (including but not limited to ATVs and segways) are prohibited on park trails with the exception of motorized wheelchairs.
