Sailing Classes

Classes are held in conjunction with the Capital City Sailing Association. CCSA was founded in 2008 with a mission to promote the art of sailing, sportsmanship, and water safety. CCSA hosts weekend sailing and sailboat racing May through October.

The Association welcomes sailors of all experience levels. Members are always looking for crew so there are plenty of opportunities to get on the water. During the summer, CCSA hosts sailing events at Binder Lake several times a month. We also organize more structured events from time to time throughout the year. Check out events calendar at www.jcsailing.org or contact one of our members for more information.

Adult Lessons: CCSA offers an introductory 3 session series to acquaint individuals with the basics of small sailboat handling. Enrollment is limited to individuals that are skilled in swimming and 15 years old or older.

Participants should be able to swim and bring any custom life jacket needs, non-skid boat or water shoes, drinking water, a hat and sunscreen. For more info, contact Paul Rudder, CCSA Facilities Chairman, at (573) 635-7995 or Parks & Recreation at (573) 634-6482.
