Summer camps are my second career! I have been a camp counselor since 2002, a teacher since 2006, and a school counselor since 2013.  Obviously, my passion is working with kids! I'm excited to be back at Camp Eagle because I feel this camp allows kids to be challenged physically, mentally, and personally. I'm looking forward to another great summer and I can't wait to see how much your kid grows. :)

Holden Hirsch Holden Hirsch, Assistant Leader, Level 2
Hi, my name is Holden Hirsch. I graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and have just finished my first year as a high school Biology teacher in Washington, Missouri.  This will be my fifth year as a camp counselor for Binder Adventure Camp and I look forward to it every summer. I enjoy working with the campers and getting to know all of them while we have some fun in the process. Some of my favorite activities we do at camp are lake day, the high-ropes course, wiffleball, frisbee, playing card games, and anything else we make up on the fly.

Hello! I’m Amberlyn, but I go by A.J. This is my first year as a camp counselor and I couldn’t be more excited! This year was my first year as a middle school English teacher, and next year I will be teaching high school English. I have a passion for working with children and encouraging them to become the best versions of themselves that they can possibly be! I attended summer camps as a child and the memories I have from them are some of the best memories of my childhood. I look forward to creating many new memories as a camp counselor!

Hi! My name is Montana Drum. I love being outdoors, playing with my nephews, reading, working out, fishing, and hunting. In 2018, I graduated from Missouri Baptist University with my Masters in Sport Management, and in 2017, I graduated from MBU with my Bachelors in Exercise Science. I was a student-athlete all through high school and college in many sports but mainly wrestling! While at MBU, I became a 4X Women’s Wrestling Collegiate All-American and a 2015 University National Champion. When I’m not working out or roaming the outdoors, you can find me on a wrestling mat! Throughout my life, I have always liked to give back to youth programs and schools in my area. I have a passion for helping others learn fun and exciting ways to exercise physically and mentally. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge with the campers and get to meet some wonderful new faces! 
 Maddy Lepper Maddy Lepper, Assistant Leader, Level 1
Hi I’m Maddy! I’m a freshman at Missouri State University and majoring in Exercise and Movement Science. My favorite hobbies include hunting, hiking, and fishing. I love the outdoors, and Binder Adventure Camp provides the perfect opportunity to do just that. I can’t wait to play some new and creative games and activities with campers. I look forward to another great year with some wonderful kids and the great outdoors.
Patrick Ward  Patrick Ward, Counselor, Level 1

Hi, my name is Patrick and this will be my 3rd summer working as a camp counselor.  I am a recent graduate of the University of Missouri where I studied Park, Recreation & Tourism.  I look forward to continuing my path with different recreation programs.  I love being outdoors and being activate. Some of my favorite activities are 9 square in the air, capture the flag, high ropes, and frisbee golf. I am looking forward to having another great summer!

Hi! I’m Emily Massman and I am super excited to be a camp counselor this summer! I am currently majoring in Anthropology, Sociology, and Pre-Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology at Truman State University. I can often be found reading, hiking, biking, or kayaking in my free time. I love working with kids and am passionate about helping kids engage with the outdoors!

Hi, my name is Ali Linck.  I am a recent graduate of University of Missouri with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I have decided to call Mid-Missouri my home.  I have spent two summers at camp in Illinois and am super excited to spend this summer with JC Parks & Rec! I love to boat, hike, be outdoors, craft and play with my dogs! I am extremely excited to spend this summer trying new things and challenging my campers to do the same!

Hi! I am Kristi! I am a transfer to Missouri Western State University and I plan on majoring in Secondary Education, History, and Special Education! I love to be outdoors playing games, hiking, swimming, and hanging with friends. I am excited to be working at Green Berry this summer! This is my first full year as a camp counselor for JC Parks. I was a sub for a few camps around town before I went and worked at Camp Barnabas. I am excited to be back home and help kids learn new games and have a fun summer!

Hi! My name is Claire Muenks! I am beyond excited to be a first year camp counselor! I have worked with children starting at the age of 12 beginning with babysitting. Ever since, I knew my passion was working with kids and helping them grow, learn, and succeed. From there I have volunteered with Camp Wonderland, Totus Tuus, and Fatima Youth volleyball camps to continue working with kids. My hobbies include volleyball, hiking trails, playing games, traveling, swimming, and being outside in the warm sunshine. I will graduate from Fatima High School in May 2019 and further my education at the University of Missouri where I plan to major in Occupational Therapy. My goal after college is to work with developmentally delayed youth. I’m looking forward to meeting many new faces and making many new memories this summer!

   
CAMP OUT N ABOUT 
 Megan Distler Megan Distler, Leader

Hi, I'm Megan Distler, and I can't wait to be leading Camp Out N About this summer!  This will be my third summer at CONA, and my second one as the leader.  We can't wait to get our kids up and moving this summer through a variety of games, mixing in our old favorites with some new ones!  When I'm not at camp, you can find me working at Jefferson City High School in Special Education or coaching the Lady Jays to victory on the volleyball court.  In my free time, I love playing outside with my dog, hiking, traveling, or playing any sport I can.  I can't wait for another summer with our awesome Parks and Rec kids!

Hi, my name is Sam Giftos and this is my first year as a camp counselor for JC Parks and Rec! I am from Peoria, IL and am going into my senior year at Westminster College in Fulton, MO. I am studying Exercise Science with a minor in Public Health with plans to attend graduate school for Physical Therapy. I enjoy running outside, sports, biking, playing games, and being outdoors in the sunshine. I have always said that I am a kid at heart so I am excited to be a camp counselor this summer and working with the kids!

Hi! My name is Brooke and I can't wait to be a full time counselor at Camp Out N About this summer. I am currently a student at Missouri State University and am moving back home for the summer. Last summer, I got the opportunity to work at Camp Eagle and Camp Binder and absolutely loved it! This year I look forward to being at a new camp and learning all the new games with the kids. I love to play any type of sport and to be outdoors! This year I look forward to meeting all the new kids and having a great time at camp!

Hi! My name is Taylor Luebbering and I am so excited to be a counselor at Camp Out N’ About. This will be my first year as a camp counselor. I can’t wait to have fun playing sports and new games with the kids this summer! When I’m not at the camps, I will be spending time with my family or out on the Lake of the Ozarks. I will transfer to Springfield in the fall of 2019 to receive my dental assisting degree. I love playing sports and I am beyond excited to be able to have fun with these kids this summer!

Hello, my name is Peyton and I am so excited to be a camp counselor this summer. This will be my first year working for the summer camps, but I have a lot of experience working with kids. I have just finished my first full year as a teacher, but before becoming a teacher I worked as an aide and I have worked in several preschools as an assistant teacher. I can’t wait to do fun activities and crafts with the campers this summer!

Hi my name is Sarah Hirst and this is my second year being a camp counselor for Parks and Rec! I am currently a student at Saint Louis University and I just came back from a semester abroad in Madrid, Spain. My major is Occupational Therapy/ Occupational Science and I hope to work with kids with disabilities when I graduate. I love hiking, sports, playing games, learning about nature, and exploring! I cannot wait to make new discoveries with all my campers this summer!

My name is Ashley Eggemeyer, I am an Art Education major at Missouri State University and will be completing my degree in the fall. I’ve been working as a substitute teacher for Springfield Public Schools for over a year now, working with a variety of students. I’m excited to be outside this summer and working with campers. My hobbies include wheel throwing, watching movies and hiking.

Hi, I’m Katie! I am currently a student at the University of Missouri, where I am majoring in biology.  I hope to attend dental school after obtaining my degree. I enjoy running, traveling, and hiking. I am so excited to be a counselor this summer. I love kids, playing games, and being outside, so I know this is going to be a great summer!

 Garrett Haslag

Garrett Haslag, Youth Day Camp Program Assistant
Hi, my name is Garrett Haslag and this will be my 6th year working with Jefferson City Parks and Recreation! I spent my first two years as a camp counselor, and the last three as camp leader all at Camp Out-N-About. This year I will be changing positions and taking more of an administrative role as an assistant to Angie Toebben (program manager). I am a graduate of Cole County R-V (Eugene) and William Woods University where I received my degree in physical education. I am also currently working on my master's degree in secondary school administration. I currently am employed at Cole County R-V as a health and physical education teacher. My passion is working with kids and nurturing an environment that is conducive to learning. I cannot wait for another summer making great experiences for the kids of Mid-Missouri!

Hi, my name is Josh Vandike and I have been involved in the Jefferson City Parks And Recreation Program for 10 years. I have been a teacher and principal at a local school for the past 15 years. I have worked at Camp Wokka Wokka and am excited to be the CIT leader this summer. I am looking forward to being a counselor this summer and mentoring CIT'S. I enjoy being part of a program that provides memories for children all summer long.

HI! My name is Olivia Garrett and this will be my second year working as a sub camp counselor.  I am a junior at Helias Catholic High School and I plan to attend either the University of Missouri or the University of Kansas.  I volunteer at the Special Learning Center, a Social Skills Group through Capital Region Medical Center, and Capernaum Club through YoungLife.  I cannot wait for a summer full of new adventures and getting to know campers.

Hi I’m Maddie! I’m a senior at Fatima highschool. Next year I will be attending UCM to get a degree in Child and Family Development. I have been a babysitter from a young age and want to be an elementary teacher in the future. My hobbies include playing soccer, hiking, kayaking, and playing with my dog, Jane. I look forward to meeting your kids and making sure they have a fun time at camp throughout the summer!
