JEFFTRAN Route Adjustments (Press Release)

Temporary Route Adjustment Timetables
Due to a driver shortage, the City of Jefferson is instituting adjustments to all six fixed-route bus routes. The current six-route system will be adjusted into an alternating route system operating on the same roads and stopping at the same bus stops. The busses will be on an 80-minute headway instead of the current 40-minute headway.
The Green (High St. East) route and Gold (High St. West) route will alternate, forming one combined route.
The Black (Capitol Mall) route and Orange (Missouri Blvd.) route will alternate, forming one combined route.
The Blue (Southwest) route and Red (Business 50 East) route will alternate, forming one combined route.
A timetable of the adjusted system can be found on the JEFFTRAN website.
The adjusted routes will take effect on February 6th.
A presentation on the route adjustments will be provided at the Public Works and Planning Committee meeting on February 9th and at the Public Transit Advisory Committee Meeting February 10th:

Individuals should contact the ADA Coordinator at (573) 634-6570 to request accommodations or alternative formats as required under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please allow three business days to process the request.

Use the DoubleMap App to Determine Bus Location in Inclement Weather
Bus riders can see the location of all JEFFTRAN's fixed route buses and determine the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of buses at any designated bus stop in Jefferson City.
The system is viewable on web browers or via a mobile app for smartphones and tablets.

Since 1974, the City of Jefferson's Transit Division (otherwise known as JEFFTRAN) has offered fixed-route public transit service along with Handi-Wheels, an origin-to-destination transit service for special needs populations.
JEFFTRAN strives to provide exceptional customer service to all our clients.
Hours of operation: Monday through Friday, 6:40 am to 6:00 pm.
Dispatch/scheduling hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Extreme Weather Conditions
During heavy snow or ice JEFFTRAN buses may operate on an Weather Emergency Flex Schedule. JEFFTRAN will not cancel service unless travel is determined to be hazardous. If bus service is running on an Weather Emergency Flex Schedule or canceled, it will be announced on Facebook/Twitter.
