Task Force Homelessness - Volunteers Needed

City of Jefferson Forms Ad Hoc Committee to Address Homelessness - Volunteers Needed

The City of Jefferson formed an ad hoc committee dedicated to addressing the critical issue of homelessness within our community. This initiative, recently approved by the city council, represents a united effort to develop comprehensive and sustainable solutions to support our residents.

Our Mission: The primary goal of the committee is to create a collaborative approach that brings together various stakeholders, including law enforcement, local leaders, City departments, faith-based organizations, nonprofit groups, and community members. By combining resources, expertise, and compassion, we aim to develop strategies that address both the immediate needs and long-term challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.

Call for Volunteers: We are currently seeking dedicated volunteers to join the committee and contribute to this important mission. The committee is taking applicants to fill spots that include five representatives from faith-based or nonprofit organizations and three at-large members from the community. This diverse group will work together to explore innovative solutions, advocate for changes, and implement programs that can make a real difference.

How to Apply: Interested individuals are invited to submit their applications.

Applications can be submitted through the city’s official website or in person at City Hall. The deadline for submissions is July 19.
