Burning Season

A reminder to citizens in Jefferson City, MO. that the burning season ends on March 1^st at sunset.   

Each year burning season starts on November 1 and ends at sunset on March 1. 

Burning season restrictions:

• Yard waste only: sticks and leaves.
• Must be attended at all times.
• During daylight hours only.  
• ALL fires must be completely extinguished by sunset. 

Recreational fire restrictions:  

• Cut or split wood only.
• Not a means of disposal of yard waste or other materials. 
• Attended at all times.
• Contained in a pit or chiminea.
