Neighborhood Stabilization Program

In 2009, the City of Jefferson was awarded $440,776 from State of Missouri Department of Economic Development Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Through NSP, the City purchased 6 foreclosed properties for the purpose of rehabilitation, demolition and/or redevelopment of vacant sites for new construction by River City Habitat for Humanity.  

Current NSP Property

408 Lafayette Street 
According to the 2012 FEMA Floodplain Maps the property is located within the floodplain.  In accordance with the federal regulations and City floodplain ordinance, the house will be demolished and deed restricted to remain as green space.

304 Marshall St - Structure rehabbed and sold to program qualified applicant. 
802 E McCarty St - Structure demolished, vacant land deeded over to River City Habitat for Humanity. 
804 E McCarty St - Structure demolished, vacant land deeded over to River City Habitat for Humanity. 
1109 E Miller St - Rehabbed and sold to program qualified applicant.
814 E McCarty St - Rehabbed and sold to program qualified applicant.
