Proposed Ward Redistricting Plan
Every ten years, following a decennial census, the U.S. Census Bureau provides the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico with population counts to use in their redrawing of congressional and state legislative district boundaries—a process known as “redistricting.” This same process is applied to local municipalities as warranted by shifts in population. The City Council for the City of Jefferson has deemed it necessary to develop a Ward Redistricting Plan. Proposed options for changes to ward boundaries have been developed using standard redistricting criteria.

Open House Events:
A public hearing on the proposed options for the Ward Redistricting Plan will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting. Written comments may be directed to the Planning Division through the Department of Planning and Protective Services. Individuals should contact the ADA Coordinator at (573) 634-6570 to request accommodations or alternative formats as required under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
